ITANAGAR, Sep 6: The Nyishi Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society (NIFCS) has expressed shock and grief over the demise of renowned Nyishi priest Taba Nyeri.
In a condolence message, the NIFCS on Friday said Nyeri was one of the founding members of the NIFCS and the Nyedar Namlo movement.
“With his sudden demise, the Nyishi society has lost a precious gem and a peerless scholar of Nyishi knowledge, tradition, culture, and spiritual and social values. His contribution towards the preservation and propagation of the age-old Nyishi indigenous practices will be cherished eternally,” it said.
The NIFCS expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
