DC directs firm to complete TAH task

YUPIA, Sep 13: Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu has directed the Sushee Infra & Mining Ltd (SIML) authority to complete the entire task entrusted to them in a time-bound manner, and to maintain the road properly, saying the “Trans-Arunachal Highway is the lifeline of commuters to Pakke-Kessang, Seppa, Bomdila and Tawang, and a vital communication route for the people of these districts.”
The DC was reviewing the damages caused to the Ranganadi Hydro Electric Plant (RHEP) due to the construction of the TAH by SIML, during a meeting here on Friday, which was attended by the Yupia ADC and CO, the Toru CO, the Nirjuli highways EE, the Yupia highways EE, the DLRSO, SIML representatives, the RHEP DGM (I), and others.
Reviewing the decisions taken at the 3 August meeting chaired by the then DC Dr Joram Beda regarding short-term and long-term precautionary measures which have to be taken by SIML along the TAH, Ligu directed SIML to “immediately complete the construction of bridges and culverts on the said road as many people are facing problems because of the bad condition of the road.”
It was decided during the meeting that the Nirjuli highways EE along with the Toru CO, SMIL officials and NEEPCO officers will jointly inspect the area in question on 14 September, and submit a detailed report along with photographs regarding the action taken by SIML with regard to short-term and long-term measures.
It was also decided that the RHEP authority would submit a copy of the map of the area allotted to them to the DC office here. It was further directed to liaise with the Lower Subansiri DC office, trace out the map, and submit a copy to the Papum Pare DC office.
SIML was also directed to carry out the box-cutting work and to complete the other blocked points on or before 25 October. (DIPRO)
