AALO, Sep 13: A three-day long district-level games and sports competition, being organised under the CM’s Samast Shiksha Yojana, got underway at the government higher secondary school ground here in West Siang district on Friday.
DC Swetika Sachan inaugurated the competition, in which Aalo East, Aalo West, Kamba-Darak and Yomcha-Liromoba blocks from West Siang and Monigong and Mechuka blocks from Shi-Yomi district are participating.
“Games and sports are an integral part of life, and such events should help spot sports talents of the district,” the DC said in her inaugural address.
DDSE Eto Ete also spoke.
The three-day event started with football, volleyball and various field and track events for the upper primary schools of the blocks.
The principals, headmasters, BEOs and teachers from the blocks also witnessed the competitions. (DIPRO)
