DOIMUKH, Sep 14: The 2nd batch training programme on disaster management for volunteers of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) concluded at the 12th Bn NDRF premises here in Papum Pare district on Saturday.
Twenty-nine NYKS volunteers from Siang and East Siang districts took part in the six-day programme, during which they were imparted training on search and rescue techniques to be used during disasters.
Addressing the valedictory function, 12th Bn NDRF Commandant Umesh Kr Thapliyal said the volunteers would now be able to assist the NDRF during disaster situations.
The team leader of the volunteers, Ketem Rome, also spoke.
