LEDUM, Sep 16: A team led by Assistant Tourism Director Bengia Manna Sonam conducted an awareness programme on ‘rural tourism and homestay hospitality’ at Ledum village in East Siang district recently.
The team was in the village on 11 and 12 September to carry out a survey for the upcoming three-day festival, ‘Easterly Essence Ledum’, which is scheduled to begin on 11 October. Over 100 villagers along with the GBs participated in the programme, during which they were informed about tourism and its global importance in sustainable development.
A session on homestay hospitality was conducted by SFCI coordinator SS Kar, while TIO Moom Darang Lego and Duyir Buni Yedi conducted interactive sessions with the participants. Activities related to the festival were discussed in detail.
