ANINI, Sep 25: MLA Mopi Mihu has highlighted the important role nutritious food plays to slow down the high mortality rate among children and called for a prosperous and ‘Malnutrition-free Dibang Valley.’
He was speaking during a programme jointly organized by the Dibang Valley district administration and departments like Public Health Engineering, Health, Panchayati Raj and Women and Child Development Departments to celebrate ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’.
The MLA further expressed hope that through Poshan Abhiyaan people are made aware of the right food to take for a long healthy life.
Dibang Valley DC Wayong Khimhun who was also present on the occasion, asked parents to feed locally grown nutritious food to the babies to avoid malnutrition and ill health. He also spoke about the collective efforts made by every department to ensure proper implementation of the Abhiyan.
The organizers also conducted competition for the best ‘nutritious homemade food’ which was participated by many. (DIPRO)
