BALIJAN, Sep 25: The Papum Pare district administration and the department of disaster management in collaboration with the 12th Bn NDRF, stationed at Doimukh organized a community disaster awareness and management programme at Balijan indoor stadium on 25 September.
Apart from providing disaster preparedness and safety tips, the NDRF team under the command of Inspector Vivek Kumar conducted mock demonstration on search and rescue operations during earthquake, flood, landslides, fire etc.
Balijan ADC Tasso Gambo also spoke on the occasion.
Besides the officers and officials of various departments under Balijan sub-division, the general public of Balijan area attended the prorgamme.
In Aalo, mock exercise on earthquake was conducted here on Wednesday, by the NDRF C- Company.
It was conducted to make aware of incident action plan, incident response system and incident support function as a part of training to each stakeholder to know their role and responsibilities in such natural calamities.
The entire mock exercise was witnessed by head of offices and general public.
Deputy Commissioner and DDMO were also present on the occasion. (DIPROs)
