ZIRO, Sep 28: Agriculture Minister Tage Taki on Saturday inaugurated the third National Sports Championship, being organized by the National Sports and Physical Fitness Board (NSPFB), at the Sports Training & Research Centre here in Lower Subansiri district.
“Winners are a combination of physical as well as mental strength,” Taki said, and exhorted the participants to “practice meditation and yoga besides physical training.”
Deputy Commissioner Chukhu Takar said “events like this provide platforms to upcoming sportspersons to display their talents.”
Arunachal Olympic Association president and former minister Padi Richo exhorted the participants from 13 states to play the game in friendly but competitive manner.
NSPFB general secretary Sandeep Bhalla assured to organize such sports events regularly in Arunachal.
Various indoor and outdoor games will be conducted during the two days of the event. (DIPRO)
