Farmers receive rice intensification training

KANUBARI, Oct 14: A two-day training programme on ‘Importance and impact of system of rice intensification on higher production’ was organized by the KVK Longding at Mopakhat Village under Kanubari circle on 13 and 14 October.
Addressing a gathering of 46 farmers of the village, KVK Longding in-charge Dr A Kirankumar Singh highlighted the benefits of the system of rice intensification and constraints in adopting the system.
As part of the awareness, Dr Singh highlighted the importance of water conservation under Jal Shakti Abhiyan. The situation of water scarcity in different parts of the country was briefed to the participants.
On the second day, Dr Singh led the farmers to the black rice field for a field survey under the OFT programme of the KVK, where 10 progressive farmers were involved in growing black rice successfully. The participants were also informed about the importance of black rice in regards to human health.
Later, participants also got their doubts clarified from Dr Singh.
