AAPPTF unit pleads for no-parking zone

PASIGHAT, Oct 18: The East Siang district unit of the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) has urged the deputy commissioner to declare the stretch of the road between the State Bank of India’s (SBI) office and the old Tata Sumo taxi stand here as a no-parking zone for commercial vehicles.
“Soon after all the ticket booking counters of Pasighat bazaar were shifted to the new parking lot in 2 Mile area, the vacated spot between the SBI office and the old Sumo stand is gradually being occupied by commercial vehicle owners and drivers, who are parking their vehicles there and causing traffic congestion,” the AAPPTF unit stated in a representation to the DC.
It said if the area is declared as a no-parking zone for commercial vehicles, there would be sufficient parking space for public and private vehicles.
