ITANAGAR, Nov 14: A three-member central assessment team headed by the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) Project Officer, Satish Bagal, on Thursday inspected the MLA Cottage and the B Sector indoor badminton stadiums here for accreditation of a badminton academy under the Khelo India scheme.
The Arunachal State Badminton Association had submitted an ‘expression of interest’ for a non-residential badminton academy last year, and fulfilled the pre-qualification criteria, said ASBA secretary Bamang Tago.
He hailed union MoS for Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rijuju, for deputing top officials from his ministry to Arunachal on a regular basis for the development of games and sports in the state.
