PASIGHAT, Nov 24: The 4th edition of the East Siang district-level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy (HDMT) tournament concluded here on Sunday.
In football, the boys’ and the girls’ teams of 38-Pasighat East and 39-Mebo have qualified for the state level HDMT competition, while in volleyball, the boys’ and girls’ teams of 38-Pasighat secured their positions to compete in the state level.
The winners and runners-up teams in football and volleyball were awarded cash prizes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively. The best players in football (both boys and girls) were given Rs 7,000 each, and Rs 5,000 each were given to the boys’ and the girls’ teams in volleyball.
DC Kinny Singh, who gave away the prizes, advised the players to take part in games and sports to gather experience “as sports are essential for unity, brotherhood, physical fitness and personality development.” (DIPRO)
