CHIMPU, Nov 29: Members of the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Alumni Association (VKVAA) held a state-level meeting at the VKV here in Papum Pare district on Friday “in order to further strengthen the district units and to carry forward the association’s social works and the message of Swami Vivekananda,” it stated in a release.
“The VKVAA has to play a proactive role in spreading the service of the kendra schools spread across the state,” said Chimpu VKV Principal, Dr Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, addressing the alumni.
The meeting discussed providing logistic support to the VKVs by the various district units, “and carrying forward the mission of education for everyone for which this kendra was established in 1977,” the association said.
Today there are 40 VKVs spread across the state.
