CHANGLANG, Nov 29: Government officers, along with teachers and students of the government higher secondary school here, participated in a ‘workshop-cum-awareness programme’ on ‘Preservation and conservation of museum specimen/cultural artifacts’, organized at the district museum here by the research department on Friday.
“Creating awareness on conservation and preservation of museum specimens and artifacts is essential, in order to prevent the valuable and age-old artifacts from deterioration,” said District Research Officer, Debotang Yupang.
The students received training in preservation and conservation of specimens and cultural artifacts, which was followed by a demonstration on chemical treatment of specimens, presented by Itanagar-based JN Musuem keeper, N Roy, laboratory assistant A Dutta, and Assistant Curator, Hem Chandra Baruah.
