NAMSANG, Jan 31: The health sub-centre in Namsang village in Tirap district has been upgraded to a health & wellness centre (HWC) under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, also known as the PM’s Jan Arogya Yojana.
Inaugurating the HWC on Friday, DoTCL Minister Wangki Lowang said the centre would be further upgraded to a PHC in due course of time.
The minister instructed the department concerned to immediately address the water supply and electricity problems of the HWC. He asked the health officials to discharge their duties sincerely, and urged the villagers to avail the benefits of government-sponsored schemes.
DMO Dr K Mossang informed that the HWC will have more trained nurses, medicines and equipment than a health sub-centre. This is among the six HWCs in Tirap, Dr Mossang informed.
DC PN Thungon emphasized on providing proper water supply, electricity, and toilet facilities at the centre. He advised the villagers to avail the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Arogya Arunachal Yojana, and to abstain from tobacco, drugs and alcohol.
Among others, the DRCHO, the Deomali ADC, and the chief of Namsang attended the function. (DIPRO)
