SEPPA, Feb 13: Seppa ADC Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla on Thursday called for restricting the entry of commercial goods vehicles, heavy or medium, into Seppa township for loading and unloading during peak hours.
He directed the police department to implement the order latest by the 17th of this month, and also suggested adopting “one-way traffic movement system, particularly during peak hours, in Seppa town.”
Addressing a meeting at the East Kameng DC office here with officials of the police and the transport departments and other stakeholders, the ADC suggested creating a “traffic safety fund under road safety guidelines,” and asked the police to make the traffic signal near the Deewana Hotel functional.
He said the administration is planning to use some of the vacant plots created recently after the dismantling of illegal structures as parking sites.
He directed the land management department to identify vacant plots in Type III colony, and urged the DUDA to develop the plots as parking sites for private vehicles.
CO Pooza Sonam Natung, DTO N Doka, DLRSO Pudom Taku, SI Fecha Lingfa, EKCCI president Tasang Taku, and AEKDSU president Chakang Yangda, among others, attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
