PASIGHAT, Feb 26: The Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) here organized an awareness programme on ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM)’ under its special outreach programme (SOP) at the community hall of Mongku village in East Siang district on Wednesday.
Speaking as a resource person, JN College’s Associate Professor Dr Tamin Payum said that the EBSB aims to enhance interaction between people of diverse cultures in different states and union territories in India, with the objective of promoting mutual understanding about their culture, tradition and languages.
While speaking about the SBM, he said “We have started Swachhta right from our home, so we have to shoulder responsibility to clean our home, surroundings and villages too for the betterment of our society.”
Mongki village Gaon Burah Orin Tamat and Pasighat FOB’s Field Publicity Officer, Mihir Kumar Jha also spoke.
A quiz competition also organized and the winners were awarded with attractive prizes.
Earlier, the programme was started with a mass awareness rally wherein the students, anganwadi workers and villagers took part.
