DC reviews CMSSY implementation

DAPORIJO, Mar 13: Upper Subansiri DC Kanto Danggen took stock of the implementation of the CM’s Samast Shiksha Yojana (CMSSY) in the district during a meeting here with the DDSE, BEOs, engineers, and other line officials on 12 March.
While discussing the status of the 2018-19 CMSSY, the DC expressed displeasure over the way the projects were implemented at various educational institutions in the district. He said he found during his visits to various schools that several projects had not been properly implemented.
“Total fund allocated under CMSSY should be brought under full utility,” the DC said, adding that the executing agencies should “pressurize the contractors” in order to ensure that structures are constructed as per the DPRs.
Besides stating that full payment for any project should be made “only after final confirmation is obtained from the engineer concerned,” Danggen said coordination between the district administration, the education department and the implementing agency must be improved in order to ensure successful implementation of the CMSSY.
Twenty-one projects taken up under the 2018-19 CMSSY were identified for release of the remaining 25 percent financial dues.
The matter of transferring teachers from zero enrollment schools to functional ones during the 2020-21 academic session was also discussed. The DC directed the DDSE to submit the list of all the teachers posted at defunct schools, and to “carry out survey on the numbers of children present in the villages, and submit the report by 20 March.”
The same afternoon, the DC convened a meeting with the HoDs to discuss various departmental and forthcoming activities.
He informed that the first phase of house-listing for updating the NPR will be carried out from 15 April to 29 May.
The DMO informed that some doctors from his department are undergoing training on Covid-19 at TRIHMS in Naharlagun and awareness programmes will therefore be carried out once they have completed the training.
The SP spoke about the law and order situation in the district. (DIPRO)
