NAHARLAGUN, Mar 25: The Central Longte Committee (CLC) has decided to call off the community level Longte celebration that falls on 15th April 2020 in view of the countrywide lockdown to prevent spread of coronavirus. The decision was taken for the larger interest of the community and public health, said CLC’s general secretary Lokam Mangha in a release on Wednesday.
“Events like cultural programme, games and sports, community feast and other competitive activities which involve two or more families or community in the name of Longte are strictly prohibited,” the release said.
However, the release said, believers can celebrate the Longte with family while staying at home.
