Lohit DA distributes free rations to unorganized and migrant workers

TEZU, Mar 29: The Lohit district administration on Sunday distributed free rations to daily wage earners and migrant workers whose livelihoods have been seriously affected due to the nationwide lockdown to contain Covid-19.
Food packets containing 10 kgs of rice, 2 kgs of pulses, 1 litre of mustard oil and 1 kg of mineral salt were distributed to the workers’ families, who are not covered under the National Food Security Act, in Daily Bazaar Line, Chai Colony, Tankyline Colony, DL Line Colony and Machuwa Camp in Tezu Khola.
When contacted, DC Prince Dhawan said 131 families were given the food materials.
The administration is identifying more such families and relief packages have been kept in readiness for distribution.
