Traders booked in Aalo, Bordumsa

ITANAGAR, Apr 30: A team of the legal metrology & consumer affairs (LMCA) department in West Siang district on Thursday booked three traders in Yoji-Yora and the daily market in Aalo for violating provisions of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, and the Packaged Commodities Rule, 2011.
In Changlang district, a team led by Legal Metrology Officer Abom Apum booked a trader in Bordumsa for selling packaged items at exorbitant prices by manipulating the MRPs. The team warned the shopkeepers that serious action would be taken against such unfair practices.
Meanwhile, Lohit LMCA Assistant Controller Sutlu Singpho informed that “the traders of Tezu are law-abiding, for which there is no complaint of overcharging during the lockdown.”
He said all the shops in Tezu display the rates of essential commodities fixed by the deputy commissioner.
