ITANAGAR, Jun 16: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has alleged that the state government was sidelining local APCS officers in favour of IAS officers.
The association alleged on Tuesday that the state government was “running dictatorship-style governance with the aid of a few IAS officers.”
“In the recent reshuffle of bureaucrats, the local officers were given less important departments, whereas the IAS officers have been assigned several departments. In fact, one single IAS officer has been given five to six departments. How will they be able to take care of all of them?” the association said.
It said such a move would only lead to “slowing down of development, as the officers will be overburdened and will not be able to clear files at regular intervals.”
The AACWA also alleged that some of the IAS officers in the state were working in connivance with “outside business groups.”
“Through this GeM portal they are trying to provide work to their favourite business groups based outside the state. Also, the names of some IAS officers came up in the corruption case in the land department and the APSSB scam, but still the government favours them,” the association added.
It also urged the government to immediately release funds against the centrally-sponsored schemes and reverse the decision to order government supplies through the GeM portal.
