ITANAGAR, Jul 11: A 22-year-old man, identified as Tai Marde, was allegedly murdered by two of his friends on the night of 8 July in Dumporijo, in Upper Subansiri district.
The deceased was rushed to the community health centre in Dumporijo, and later evacuated to the district hospital in Daporijo. However, he succumbed to his injuries. The body was brought back to Dumporijo for the last rites, after postmortem had been conducted in Daporijo.
According to the deceased’s family, the incident occurred at around 11.20 pm near the Dumporijo PWD IB. The family identified one Tania Bulo and one Taku Pobo as being involved in the alleged murder.
The father of the deceased lodged an FIR at the Dumporijo police station on 9 July. The accused are now in police custody, and the bereaved family has called for expediting the case.
The deceased is a nephew of former minister Takar Marde, who has appealed to the law enforcement authority to expedite the investigation and furnish the details leading up to the heinous crime. He has also sought stringent punishment for the accused as per the law.
