AALO, Jul 26: West Siang DC Moki Loyi convened a meeting here on Saturday with the secretaries and presidents of 31 sectors and colonies of Aalo township to discuss the Covid-19 situation.
The DC urged them to assist the police in checking unwanted activities in the colonies, keeping vigil on people under home quarantine, checking unauthorized sale of liquor from ghumtis, identifying shops operating without licence, etc.
Badges will be issued to the volunteers in the colonies. The DC urged the participants to deploy “only committed volunteers who can work under the supervision of the magistrate and the police.”
Responding to queries regarding movement of military, paramilitary and GREF personnel who are in proximity of civilian areas, and the labourers engaged in construction work, Loyi assured to pursue the matter with the respective commandants.
He informed that the positive cases found among the army personnel have been shifted to the Covid care centre (CCC) in Likabali, and that the patients among the ITBP personnel would also be shifted soon to their CCCs.
“No entry of new labourers will be allowed during the pandemic,” he said.
DMO Dr Moli Riba spoke on the new SOP issued by the government, and appealed to all to cooperate in handling the situation in the district.
“The doctors and frontline workers are working overtime and it is impossible to work for hours together with full PPE and withstand the heat that is produced in this hot summer,” he said.
The representatives of the sectors and colonies also spoke on several issues. (DIPRO)
