DC reviews Covid vaccination status  

ROING, 25 Feb: Commenting on the slow progress of the Covid-19 vaccination status of the district, Lower Dibang Valley DC KN Damo urged the DMO to ramp up the vaccination process.

He also advised the medical department to mobilize the ASHAs and anganwadi workers to create social awareness among the masses to voluntarily get Covid-19 vaccine without any fear or hesitation.

He was speaking during a follow-up meeting of the district task force committee with regard to routine immunization, polio and Covid-19 vaccination in Roing on Thursday.

The DC asked the ZPMs to share information on Covid-19 vaccination with the public to motivate them to come forward to take the vaccine. He also asked the GREF medical officer to plan their vaccination session in a concerted manner, considering their huge labour population.

The full immunization status, IPPI programme achievement, Covid-19 vaccination update and AEFI status of the district were reviewed during the meeting.

SAANS, a new initiative of the government to intensify action to reduce mortality due to childhood pneumonia was also highlighted in the meeting by DRCHO Dr Raju Mena. (DIPRO)
