AALO, 22 Mar: The three-day games and sports events held under Khelo India concluded at the government higher secondary school general ground here in West Siang district on 20 March.
West Siang ZPC Babom Romin gave away the prizes to the winners of the volleyball, football and kho-kho competitions, and exhorted the young participants to take keen part in games and sports in the future too.
He expressed hope that many sports talents of the district would be spotted through such competitions.
In Papum Pare, the district level U-17 Khelo India (boys and girls) sports events concluded at Sangey Lhaden Sports Complex in Chimpu on Monday.
Sports activities in various disciplines like badminton, football, Taekwondo and table tennis were conducted.
District Sports Officer (in-charge) Tarak Dotang informed that altogether 300 U-17 sportspersons from five blocks of Papum Pare participated in the two-day event.
Sagalee block was declared the overall champion and Doimukh the runner-up. (DIPROs)
