Covid-19: Govt orders summer vacation for schools from 1 May, RGU issues notice for completion of classes within 2 weeks

ITANAGAR, 19 Apr: Confronted with rising Covid-19 cases across the country and in the state, the Education department has issued a circular, informing that the summer vacation of all the schools in the state will begin from 1 May and continue till 31 May.

The internal examination of all classes, except for Classes 10 and 12, will be conducted and completed by 30 April. Instructions for internal assessment of Class 10 and fresh date-sheet for Class 12 will be issued by the CBSE, the circular read.

Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) in Rono Hills also issued a notice on 17 April, calling for completion of all physical classes, including practicals and sessional tests, within two weeks.

Besides advising strict adherence to Covid-appropriate behaviour and restricting unnecessary movement of employees, RGU has also suspended sports and games activities in the university premises.

The university guesthouse will also not allow accommodation to any outsider without a negative RT-PCR test certificate.

“If the guidelines are not strictly followed, the university has no other alternative but to close down normal offline academic activities. Hence, people are advised to prepare for such hard eventualities,” the RGU notice further read.
