PASIGHAT, 15 May: The health department here has increased the number of oxygen beds to 48, including four ICU beds, “out of which 40 beds have been installed with medical graded copper pipeline oxygen supply system with oxygen manifold of six jumbo oxygen cylinders, connected to 45 litres MOSS,” informed Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH) Joint DHS (T&R) Dr Dukhum Raina, adding that the dedicated Covid hospital (DCH) here in East Siang district now has continuous oxygen supply for Covid-19 patients who require oxygen support.
It is worth mentioning here that, during last year’s pandemic, the DCH was established in the NEIFM (AYUSH building) with 37 beds, four oxygen beds and four ICU beds, with temporary pipeline oxygen supply system connected to 45 litres MOSS and backup by two jumbo cylinders with oxygen manifold.
East Siang DC Dr Kinny Singh said that the central and state governments “are strenuously working towards controlling the ground situation and delivering the best medical services.”
“The citizens should step forward and strengthen the efforts being made by the government,” she said, adding that it is high time that united efforts were made to combat Covid-19. (DIPRO)
