ITANAGAR, 19 May: A 58-year-old male has died of Covid-19 while at home in Doimukh in Papum Pare on 19 May. The person who had co-morbidities had taken his first dose of vaccine, according to the health department’s Covid-19 bulletin.
The total death toll in the state is 89, with 36 deaths in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), seven in East Siang and six each in Lower Dibang Valley and Namsai.
Meanwhile, a total of 337 people tested positive for the virus taking the total active cases to 2,585 in the state.
All the districts in the state have now active Covid cases, including Anjaw, Dibang Valley, and Kra Daadi, which have very limited or no health care facility.
All cases reported from Anjaw are from BRO labour camps. Health officials said that the camps have been declared as containment zones.
With 75 fresh cases, ICR now has 609 active cases, followed by 223 in Lower Subansiri and 200 active cases in Changlang.
Of the 337 cases, 154 are symptomatic. The state has said that 148 patients were discharged, with 57 in ICR.
Total of 4,509 samples were collected on Wednesday. (See bulletin)
