ROING, 2 Jun: Acting on information regarding drug-related activities, the anti-drug squad (ADS) of the Roing police here in Lower Dibang Valley on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers from Cheh Kilo area near here and confiscated contraband drugs from their possession.
“Based on the input, the ADS team led by SI T Haging immediately rushed to the spot at around 2:20 pm and found a 20 and 26-year-old, selling and consuming drugs.
“Caught red-handed, the culprits were immediately taken into custody and during body search, 10.85 gms of heroin in plastic containers, four syringes, one empty plastic tube, two empty containers and a cash amount of Rs 7,310 were found from their possession,” he informed.
The duo are in police custody and a case U/S 21(b)/27(a) under the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is on.
The Roing police has appealed to all the stakeholders, CBOs, NGOs, student bodies and general public of the district to extend all possible help in this fight to make LDV free from drug menace.
