Orgs remind CM of ultimatum

ITANAGAR, 30 Jun: The Nyishi Youth Welfare Association and the Arunachal Indigenous Students’ Union on Wednesday reminded the chief minister of the ultimatum they had served to him, seeking fulfilment of their various demands.

The organizations said they had served a 15-day ultimatum to the chief minister on 8 May this year. The two organizations are demanding immediate floating of a notice inviting tender under the GeM portal for procurement of Covid-related hospital equipment for 10 district hospitals; modification of the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Enterprises and Professional (Incentive Development and Professionals) Entrepreneurship Act, 2015, “particularly Section 4, Clause (i) to (vi); annulment/repealing of the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2014; cancellation of  three ST certificate issued to Tibetan refugees; renaming of Indira Gandhi Park here as Abotani Park; and introduction of chapter related to Arunachal in the NCERT books.

They also urged state government to “reintroduce the ‘Arun Bharati’ book compulsorily from Classes 1 to 6.”
