Guv urged to look into stalled road project

ITANAGAR, 5 Jul: Claiming that the work on the 100 kms long Tato-Taliha two-lane road project undertaken by the BRO is stalled since 2016, the Shi-Yomi district unit of the ABK Youth Wing and the All Kochung Ao Welfare Society in a joint representation to the governor on Monday appealed to him to issue directions to the authority concerned and the executing agency to expedite the work on the project.

They informed that land compensations were disbursed for a stretch of 30 kms in 2014. The BRO then started the construction work of the road but has covered only 15 kms of the total stretch, they said.

“The 15 kms long road constructed of the total stretch is already in a dilapidated condition. There has been no regular maintenance and protection work since its construction. We, the denizens of the Tato area, have been facing a lot of hardships due to the incomplete construction of the project. For the last so many years, the residents of the area have been requesting the authority concerned for early completion of the road, but in vain,” they said.
