ITANAGAR, 13 Jul: Two more Covid-19-related deaths were reported on Tuesday, taking the state’s death toll to 193. One of the deaths was registered on Monday by the DHS.
According to the DHS report, a 62-year-old female patient with comorbidity from the ICR died of Covid-19-related complications at the DCH in Chimpu on Monday at 5:50 pm.
The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the RKM Hospital (RKMH) in Itanagar on 5 July. She had then been referred from the RKMH and admitted to the DCH in Chimpu on the same day.
An 82-year-old female patient from West Kameng died on Tuesday at 11:30 am at Charduar, Assam, on her way to the DCH in Chimpu. The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the general hospital in Bomdila on 12 July and had been referred to the DCH in Chimpu the same day.
The vaccination status of both patients is nil.
Meanwhile, the state on Tuesday reported 431 new Covid-19 cases, of whom 221 are symptomatic.
The ICR reported the highest 101 Covid-19 cases, followed by 63 cases in East Siang and 36 cases in Changlang.
With 27 percent, Kurung Kumey reported the highest positivity rate in the state. The ICR reported a positivity rate of 12 percent.
On Tuesday, a total of 343 patients in various health facilities across the state were declared recovered or discharged.
Currently, the DCH in Chimpu has 38 patients, while the DCHC in Midpu and the DCH in Pasighat have four and eight patients, respectively. The SQF in Lekhi has 55 occupants (see full bulletin)
