Micro-containment zones notified

ITANAGAR, 13 Jul: Following detection of clustering of Covid-19 positive cases in certain areas of the Itanagar capital region (ICR), Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom issued an order on Tuesday, notifying various sectors/areas as micro-containment zones.

The residents of these sectors/areas have been put under home quarantine for 14 days.

The areas/sectors notified as micro-containment zones are as follows.

Nirjuli: NERIST campus and P Sector; Itanagar: Quarter No 19 in C Sector, Gandhi Market, the BSNL complex, Kime Paka, the areas near IG Park and Kingcup School, Niti Vihar, the area near minister Mama Natung’s residence, VIP Road, the area near the middle school in Senki Park, the area near Bungalow No 2 in F Sector, the area near Green Mount School, Chandranagar, the area near Gyan Ganga School, the area near the Jio office, the area near the DC office, the area near the horticulture office, the area near Tarang Academy, Mowb-II, and the areas near the chief office and Jumi building; Naharlagun: Pachin Colony, C Sector, near Forest Colony, near legal metrology office, near the BSNL office, near KV-II, Barapani, River View hotel side, near

Sunrise Hotel, main market area, B Sector, Oju Mission orphanage building, Damsite, near St Thomas School, and near bridge.

The DC has directed the DMO to immediately collect samples of the primary and secondary contacts for Covid-19 tests after shifting all positive cases to the Covid care centre.

“No unauthorized persons shall be allowed to enter or exit from the above areas without prior approval from the undersigned or DMO/DSO, ICR. The movement of people for supply of essential items and other emergency services shall be regulated and police/security guard shall be deployed by the ICR SP to regulate the movement.

“The ICR DMO shall deploy staff to oversee the immediate medical needs of the residents of the above areas, as may be required, and also for thermal scanning, etc. Essential items required by the residents shall be provided by coordinating with shopkeepers/home delivery firms by the EACs and the COs concerned, in coordination with the police and health workers. The DMO/DSO shall carryout rapid antigen/RT-PCR/TrueNat testing of all the residents as per the SOP and instruct the period of quarantine, etc, and other follow-up action to be taken,” the order read.
