IMC seeks technical support from MCD

NEW DELHI/ ITANAGAR, 14 Jul:  Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang has sought technical support from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to tackle the solid waste problem.

On Wednesday, a team of the IMC led by the mayor held a meeting with the top official of the MCD and visited various solid waste management plants at Delhi.

The team , accompanied  by the  three executive engineers of MCD, visited the 1300 ton per day waste management plant, 12 MW solid waste management plant, construction and waste management plant, compost plant, Xaper machine at Kasturba drain and a fixed compactor transfer station to understand the advanced technology of solid waste management.

Earlier, attending a meeting with the MCD officials, Phassang elaborated on the various challenges being faced by the IMC on solid waste management and sought possible support to tackle the solid waste in the line of MCD.

“MCD being one of the major bodies of the national capital is successfully managing tons of solid waste with its advanced technology. We believe that MCD will share such technology and necessary support to IMC in days to come,” Phassang stated.

MCD engineer-in-chief Vijay Prakash on his part, assured to share ideas and knowledge on solid waste management with the IMC.

Among others, Chief Engineer Sandeep Sharma, Executive Engineer Gagan Khanna, EEs RK Singh, Sanjay Kumar and others from the MCD attended the meeting.
