Two more Covid-related deaths on Wednesday, positive cases at 465

ITANAGAR, 14 Jul: With two more Covid-19 related deaths reported on Wednesday, the state’s death toll has reached 195.

A 23-yr-old asymptomatic, pregnant woman had tested Covid positive on 12 July at the Nari community health centre and delivered a healthy male baby on 14 July at the dedicated Covid hospital in Pasighat, East Siang district. The health department informed that the immediate cause of death of the woman is amniotic fluid embolism. She passed away at around 8 am on Wednesday.

A 40-year-old man in Kurung Kumey also died on Wednesday at around 2 pm. The patient had headache, cough, fever and breathing difficulty since 7 July and tested positive for Covid-19 at the district hospital in Koloriang on Wednesday. He was admitted to the district Covid health centre on the same day but succumbed to Covid pneumonia.

The vaccination status of the woman is not known, while the man had not been vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the state on Wednesday reported 465 new Covid-19 cases, of whom 185 are symptomatic.

The ICR reported the highest 109 Covid-19 cases, followed by 47 cases in Lohit and 40 cases in Papum Pare.

With 33 percent, Kurung Kumey reported the highest positivity rate in the state. The ICR reported a positivity rate of 16 percent.

On Wednesday, 286 patients in various health facilities across the state were declared recovered or discharged.

Currently, the DCH in Chimpu has 41 patients, while the DCHC in Midpu and the DCH in Pasighat have five and eight patients, respectively. The SQF in Lekhi has 48 occupants (see full bulletin)
