PALIN, 16 Jul: A seminar on the importance of tree plantation was organized by the Jamin RWD division for the gram panchayat chairpersons of Palin circle in Kra Daadi district on Friday.
It was organized to mark the month-long plantation drive scheduled for July 2021 by the rural development ministry to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence under the ongoing nationwide ‘Azadi ka amrut mahotsav’.
ASW Khyoda Meema informed that the seminar was conducted as an extension programme of the avenue plantation drive carried out by the department at PMGSY projects on 10 July.
Veterinary Officer Dr Bamang Raja spoke on the importance of tree plantation. He also briefed the participants on the precautions needed to fight foot-and-mouth disease among cattle in the region.
Later, saplings also distributed to the participants.
Among others, Palin CO Api Nungnu, Palin East ZPM Khyoda Ram and JE Byabang Takar attended the programme. (DIPRO)
