LUNGLA, 20 Jul: Fifty-one residents of Sherbang and Gispu villages were inoculated with Covid-19 vaccine during a mop-up drive conducted by the Lungla administration in Tawang district on Tuesday.
A team led by Lungla ADC Tashi Dhondup and comprising Lungla ZPM Thutan Gombu, CO Nawang Thutan, Tawang DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema, and other health officials carried out the mop-up drive.
Besides conducting the vaccination drive, the team generated awareness among the villagers in the local dialect regarding social distancing, compulsory use of mask, and other Covid-appropriate behaviour.
“All the booth level officers of Lungla subdivision have already been activated to collect data of villagers by visiting door to door,” the ADC informed.
DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema said that, while vaccination at the ground level “is almost covered,” erratic internet connectivity makes it difficult to upload the data to the CoWIN portal. (DIPRO)
