OC urges people to join hands against drug menace

ITANAGAR, 20 Jul: Itanagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Inspector Phasang Simi has appealed to all sections of society to join hands in the fight against drug addiction among the youths.

Simi, along with IMC Corporator Gora Tallang and other local leaders of the area launched an awareness programme on protection of flora, fauna and aquatic life in the Senki river in Ward 3, Chandranagar, on Tuesday.

During the programme, Simi said “it is not only the responsibility of youth organization, civil society and student unions, but everyone has to join hands together, including parents and senior members of the society who can guide the children and youths in a better way for a better future.”

He informed that a large-scale fight against the drug menace is underway in the state. “The state police, led by the DGP, the IGP and the Capital SP, are working hard against drug peddlers. But the battle against drugs will be successful if all sections of society extend helping hands and support to the police,” said the OC.

Ward 3 Corporator Gora Tallang and Ward 3 Youth Welfare Association president Giogi Talo also spoke.
