DC urges residents to keep ICR clean

ITANAGAR, 15 Oct: Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) DC Talo Potom appealed to the residents to cooperate with the authority in keeping the ICR free from garbage.

The DC, who on Friday initiated a pilot project on garbage management in collaboration with Ward 10 Corporator Yukar Yaro, suggested to the residents to segregate biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes at the source.

“Put biodegradable waste in a pit and other wastes like plastic, iron, etc, in another place, which can be sold to ragpickers or scrap dealers,” he advised.

The DC said that the residents’ cooperation is needed to make the pilot project a success.

“If this proves successful, it could be replicated in other sectors and wards also to make Itanagar one of the cleanest towns of India,” he said.
