Cyclothon organized to create awareness on ‘transparent taxation’

ROING, 10 Dec: The income tax department on Friday organized a cyclothon from Meka to Bomjir in Lower Dibang Valley district to create awareness among the people on transparent taxation.

Lower Dibang Valley deputy commissioner K.N Damo, who was also present on the occasion, spoke on the importance of taxation for the government.

Income tax department’s North East Region chief commissioner Raju Tayeng interacted with the cyclists from the district and assured them to arrange sponsors for future competitions.

SP J.K Lego, ZPC Obang Ngupok and ZPM Tony Borang also spoke on the occasion and advised the youth to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

Principal commissioners N. Longvah and G.G Kamei, director A. Gimson and commissioner Sushil Kumar from the income tax department were present on the occasion.

Besides local cyclists and members of Roing Raptors Cycling Club, cyclists from Assam’s Jorhat and Dibrugarh also participated in the cyclothon. (DIPRO)
