ITANAGAR, 10 Feb: Issues related to foreign tourists’ visit to the state, and the rules and procedures to be followed by the tour operators, hoteliers, the police, and tourism officials were discussed during a meeting convened by Tourism Director Abu Tayeng here on Thursday.
The director apprised representatives of the police, the NIC, the Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operator Association (APTOA) and the Arunachal Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHRA) of the issues which have arisen due to “non-compliance of stakeholders in submitting documents related to foreign tourists’ visits to the state.”
He requested the hoteliers and tour operators to submit documents like Form C on time.
SP (SB) John Pada and NIC officials highlighted the rules and procedures to be followed by the tour operators and hoteliers as per the Centre’s guidelines. They also spoke about the roles of various institutions involving the SPs (FRO) of various districts, and the roles of the SP (SB) office, hoteliers and tour operators. Emphasis was also given on compulsory and on-time submission of Form C by the hoteliers.
A presentation on the Immigration Visa and Foreigners Registrations and Tracking Platform, mandated to be used for tracking all visiting foreigners, was also made.
APTOA president John Panye and AHRA president Tagru Ponung also spoke.
