Training prog on ‘tribal immunization’ held

ITANAGAR, 24 Feb: A training programme on ‘Tribal immunization’ was organized by the state unit of the National Health Mission for 52 participants (representatives of NGOs and CBOs) from various districts of the state at a city hotel here on Thursday.

Held in collaboration with development partner UNICEF, the WHO, the UNDP and the JSI, the training was conducted with the aim of encouraging the participants to create awareness among the tribal community on routine immunization, vaccine preventable diseases and Covid-19 vaccination.

The training consisted of presentations, animation videos, group exercise and discussions.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Alo Libang encouraged the participants to “actively support, coordinate and collaborate with the state health department in improving routine immunization and Covid vaccination coverage in the state.”

NHM MD CR Khampa and SIO Dr D Padung elaborated the immunization programme of the state, the challenges faced, and possible solutions to bridge the gaps.
