Science festival continues with talks, activities for children

ITANAGAR, 24 Feb: As part of the weeklong science festival ‘Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate’, organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T), a series of lectures and engaging activities were organized here on Thursday.

Scientist from Dibrugarh (Assam)-based Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-RMRC NE, Dr K Rekha Devi spoke on ‘Milestones in bio-medical research in India’ and highlighted the achievements of the ICMR.

Another speaker, scientist from ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Dr Basavaraj Mathapati gave a talk on ‘Milestones in medical virology in India’, covering the major events of virology in India, and highlighted the efforts and achievements of the health & family welfare ministry in prevention and control of viral diseases in humans.

A magic show displaying the science behind magic was also arranged to enhance the understanding of science among the children.

Over 200 students from schools and nursing colleges of the state, along with senior officials of the APSCS&T and government organizations visited the book fair held as part of the festival on Thursday.
