ITANAGAR, 25 Feb: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have in separate messages extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Nyokum festival of the Nyishi community.
The governor in his message expressed hope that the festivities would invoke blessings of goddess Nyokum Ane for peace and prosperity of the community and the entire humankind.
“It now devolves on the new generations to reflect on the vibrant cultural traditions of the community and strengthen, preserve, protect and reinforce the Nyishi cultural identity,” Mishra said in his message.
“I convey my best wishes to one and all for the successful celebration of Nyokum Yullo,” the governor said.
The CM in his message hailed the Nyishis for zealously safeguarding their rich culture and reliving their tradition by celebrating Nyokum Yullo with zeal and enthusiasm.
Joining the festivity, Khandu expressed hope that Nyokum this year would bring in good health and wealth for the people of the state.
