DAPORIJO, 11 Apr: The All Tagin Youth Organisation has lodged a complaint with the Upper Subansiri deputy commissioner against the Upper Subansiri district unit of the BJP for allegedly organising party activity at the government higher secondary school auditorium here on 6 April.
Condemning the act, the organisation said such political activities and programmes would “pollute the atmosphere of the school and adversely affect the students.”
It also demanded appropriate action against the individual(s) who granted permission to organise the programme at the school.
Meanwhile, district BJP president Jili Jeram said that the party did not organise any political programme in the school premises, “other than watching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live TV programme on the occasion of Sthapana Diwas on 6 April.”
The BJP leader said that a cleanliness drive was also conducted in the school premises after the programme ended, adding that a series of social service drives had been conducted earlier also in the school premises.
He said that the party also contributed a water motor pump and other materials to the school authority.
