ROING, 27 May: The Lower Dibang Valley district administration organised a walkathon here on Friday to create awareness on the harmful effects of drugs abuse.
The event, themed ‘Drugs choro, khel mein joro’, was organised for the sportspersons participating in the 5th state level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy tournaments currently underway here.
Addressing the players, MLA Mutchu Mithi advised them to “spread the message of ‘Say no to drugs’ throughout the state,” and added that drugs destroy lives and families.
DC Soumya Saurabh said that, “if action is not taken now, a generation of youths will be lost to drugs.”
She administered an ‘anti-drug pledge’ to all the players. (DIPRO)
