YINGKIONG, 3 Jun: A police team led by Yingkiong Police Station OC, Inspector M Koyu intercepted a vehicle (AR-01E-8993) near Shimong village on Friday and seized 9.42 gms of orange powder, suspected to be heroin, from the possession of the couple in the vehicle, identified as Nijamuddin Ali and his wife Annu Rai, of PWD Colony here in Upper Siang district.
The police team also included L/Inspector K Tayeng, SI K Dameng, Head Constable M Kumar, and others, accompanied by Town Magistrate Mum Messar.
A case under Section 21 (b) NDPS Act r/w Section 34 IPC has been registered against the couple. (DIPRO)
