NAMSAI, 20 Jun: District-wise and project-wise presentations on the status of various schemes were made by branch officers during a ‘state level zonal review meeting’ of the women & child development (WCD) directorate, chaired by WCD Secretary CN Longphai, here on Monday.
Discussions on all the issues confronting the implementation of the schemes undertaken by the WCD department were discussed in order to resolve the bottlenecks.
Among the major issues that were discussed were the need to achieve complete Aadhaar coverage of the beneficiaries under the anganwadi services; pregnant and lactating mothers; anganwadi workers and anganwadi helpers; geotagging of the infrastructure facilities; on-time uploading of the reports on the RRS portal; complete enrolment of the targeted beneficiaries under the PMMVY; and total on-boarding of beneficiaries under the Poshan Abhiyan and the Poshan Tracker.
Longphai in his address advocated ensuring that every beneficiary avails the benefits of the schemes implemented by the department.
“It is also necessary that they undertake wide media campaign and advocacy campaign, so that 100 percent coverage is done in all the schemes of the department,” he said.
WCD Special Secretary Akriti Sagar said that those responsible for implementation of the schemes “have to work with full enthusiasm in order to achieve the intended objectives and targets of the schemes.”
WCD Director TP Loyi informed that, “for effective implementation and improved service delivery, the existing schemes of the WCD ministry have been clubbed together into three verticals, viz, Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti, and Mission Vatsalya.”
All the deputy directors of the districts concerned made presentations and spoke about the good practices of their departments. (DIPRO)
