ITANAGAR, 24 Jun: MM Charitable Trust (MMCT), in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Drug De-Addiction Society and the health services directorate, organised an awareness programme on ‘drug abuse and illicit trafficking’ at Aying Abu Public School in Upper Subansiri HQ Daporijo on Friday.
Addressing the students, Daporijo MMCT project manager Gotum Nayam spoke on the “know-how of drugs and their ill effects.” He said that the increasing number of drug users in Aruna-chal Pradesh, especially among the youths, poses a grave danger to the society, the state, and the country.
He also discussed rehabilitation and treatment of dr-ug addicts with the students.
Meanwhile, over 100 youths, including drug addicts, participated in an awareness programme on drug abuse and illicit trafficking organised at Borum in Papum Pare district by the Emmanuel Rehabilitation Society on Thursday.
The programme was held in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Drug De-Addiction Society.
